Floating Spa / Sid Lee Architecture

Located in the western end of the Old Port of Montreal, this Unidentified Floating Object has an unexpected vocation : it holds a Scandinavian spa center. Precisely the third life of an aging ferry from the 50's already recycled into the first floating art center and theater for the 1967 world exhibition, Expo 67. An idea that came from the Emond family, owners of the Balnea spa in Bromont, executed by the architectural segment of the Montreal advertising agency Sid Lee. Check out the nice coverage at world-architects.com and some more pictures at putsomethinginthefridge.
